When it comes to body scrubbing, you might be doing some skincare don’ts and not doing absolute do’s. Read these 5 tips that will transform your bath routine and instantly make scrubbing a lot more effective.

A variety of factors go into keeping our facial and body skin beautiful. Even if you’re good at sticking to a consistent skincare routine, there’s still trial and error involved. Plus, out of habit, convenience, or impulse, you might be doing some skincare don’ts and not doing absolute do’s.

This holds especially true when it comes to body scrubbing – do it wrong and you’ll miss out on maximizing its benefits or worse, you’ll open the door for sensitivity, dryness, and irritation. Do it right and you’ll be amply rewarded.

Here are five rules that will transform your bath routine and instantly make scrubbing a lot more effective:

1. Don’t use body scrub on your face and vice-versa

First things first, don’t ever scrub your face with body scrub. The grains in the body scrub are bigger than those in a facial formula. Body scrubs are made specifically for body skin, and not for the more delicate facial skin.
For your body, pick a scrub that’s designed for your skin type. For example, if you have dry body skin, pick a scrub enriched with oils to give your skin the gentle exfoliation and the deep hydration it needs at the same time. Formulated for normal to dry skin, Seacret Salt & Oil Scrub is a refreshing scrub blend that softens rough skin and helps reveal a long-lasting beautiful glow.

2. Don’t get the product wet
Any scrub product works better when kept dry and at room temperature. Before scrubbing, dry your hands with a towel and only then reach into the scrub bag or jar. This will keep the scrub dry inside the jar and help keep the extra moisture out. After scrubbing, immediately close the container and make sure to keep it away from the showerhead. For even better results, you can keep the product on a shelf, completely outside of your shower or tub.

3. Don’t wash the scrub off immediately
Apply the scrub at least halfway through your shower when your skin is warm and wet. Grab a generous amount and gently massage your skin. Leave it on for at least 3-5 minutes. This will give the product a chance to be deeply absorbed into your skin. Finally, rinse well with warm water.
